St. Kitts (SKN)

St. Kitts is one stunning Caribbean country to explore! It might look like any other Caribbean island on the surface but there are so many amazing things to do in St Kitts. These all easily makes St. Kitts one of the most diverse Caribbean islands to explore.

The currency on the island is Eastern Caribbean Dollars or EC. US Dollars (USD) is accepted too but it is likely you will get EC in return.

Relaxed white sand beaches, a lush green mountainous interior, engaging heritage sites; you can look forward to all these delights, but that is merely the beginning. 

For a closer look at St. Kitts culture, head to the National Museum in Basseterre, which houses three galleries tracing the history of the island from its indigenous inhabitants to its independence in 1983.  St.Kitts, the gateway island, is also home to a World Heritage site, the colossal Brimstone Hill Fortress, and a unique scenic railway that trundles around the coast.

The sea around St. Kitts is filled with vibrant coral reefs. Go snorkeling or scuba diving to see rare sea life such as the flamingo tongue snail which is covered in yellow spots. Take a dive boat out to the River Taw Wreck Site.

Well, if you want a little time off the beach make sure you head on the Mount Liamuiga volcano hike, it really is one of the best things to do in St Kitts and the views are totally stunning from the top. Hike up to the rim of the volcano to get a tour of the interior of the island. While you walk, watch out for friendly monkeys.
